Drogheda is a feast of heritage with the ‘cup and saucer’ Millmount museum and Martello Tower, Magdalene Tower, St Peter’s Church housing the relics of St Oliver Plunkett, the magnificent Lawrence’s Gate.

Just a few miles up the coast Clogherhead is a blue flag beach and just beyond Clogherhead is Port, a long stretch of beach with views to the Cooley and Mourne mountains.

Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre
Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre interprets the Neolithic monuments of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth. The extensive exhibition includes a full scale replica of the chamber at Newgrange as well as a full model of one of the smaller tombs at Knowth.
The iconic passage grave is really worth a visit.
